What's the problem?
Sexual assault is not confined to any one demographic but affects a vast array of individuals. While the majority of victims are female, the poor and women of color are disproportionately targeted, as are the disabled. The media propagates ideas that these populations are somehow less human because of their race, class or ableness, and therefore that it is acceptable or even encouraged to dominate them. These problems make it vital that we work to educate all people not only about enthusiastic consent, in which both parties are of sound mind and desire sex, but also broadly about the value of all human life.
